The world's image of Africa is one of poverty, squalor and backwardness. However, in the streets of Kinshasa and Brazzaville, Congo, there exists such a group of people: they do ordinary jobs, such as cab drivers, tailors and gardeners, but once off duty, they will dress up in exquisite and colorful clothes, and dress up as high society gentlemen and ladies.
They ignore their poor and backward environment and pursue freedom and fashion, creating a beautiful scene in the slums. This group of people call themselves "Sapho", meaning people who dress tastefully, and have their own social organization, "Sap" (Association of Atmosphere Makers and Elegant People).
