Rafael Pérez creates The Artist's Book as his private diary, in which the viewer gets a glimpse into the artist's biography and personal life. The Artist's Book: Couples consists of seven acrylic paintings on paper that attempt to explore the complexities and subtleties of the relationship between a man and a woman: from the fiery passion of early love to the quiet intimacy of a long-term commitment, the vibrant colors and expressive imagery allow the viewer to empathize with the experience. Through this work, Rafael Pérez wants the viewer to contemplate the nature of love and the meaning of its existence in a rapidly changing world.
