Nationality: China
Year of birth: 1966
Born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1966, he was admitted to the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, today's China Academy of Fine Arts, and the National Hangzhou Art College in the Republic of China in 1986 at the age of 20. In 1928, the predecessors of the art world, represented by Lin Fengmian, opened China's modernist art experiment here. One year later, Jin Yuren also experienced the "85th New Wave" in the 1980s, the resurrection of Chinese modern art by the West Lake. However, he did not try to take advantage of this east wind to become a powerful figure in the art world, but instead, after a period of traveling, from the end of the 1990s, he lived a life close to seclusion. In his village by the Fuchun River, he contemplated philosophy and religion, and practiced Zhuangzi's thoughts, which were alien to the times, but also different from them. From experiencing the activity of modern art in the 1980s to living in seclusion and creating in silence, Jin Yuren's process of individual cultivation and awakening is in fact a side view of the development of contemporary art in China.
