Juan Miro is a Spanish painter, sculptor, potter, printmaker, and one of the representative figures of Surrealism.
As a 20th century surrealist artist on a par with René Magritte and Salvador Dali, Juan Miro's creations often intentionally disrupt the normal order of perception, and under the guidance of intuition, he uses an almost abstract language to express the improvisational sensations of the mind. As a result, symbols and simplified images appear in his works, giving them a sense of free abstraction. Juan Miro is known as "a master who combines children's art, primitive art and folk art into one".
