He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree in printmaking in 1992, and graduated from the Alfred University College of Art and Design with a master's degree in electronic integrated art in 2005. He was the director of the Digital Media Studio of the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the co-curator of the Beijing Media Art Biennale. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Art and Technology Direction of the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the creative director of a collective ART+TECH. He engages in art and technology research, education and practice in multiple capacities as an artist, designer and educator, and his art practice focuses on hybrid field narratives co-constructed by virtual and physical fields. His art and design works have been exhibited in international exhibitions and festivals such as the China Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, and he has been honored with the German IF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, Special Award for German Design, and Asia's Most Influential Design Award.
