Source - International Exhibition of Famous Powder Painters

Pastel painting was introduced to China in 1919, and has already passed a hundred years of history by 2019. This year is the beginning of the second hundred years of Chinese pastel painting, in order to let more people understand the art of pastel painting, inherit and carry forward this ancient type of painting, in order to help the development of pastel painting in the new era, the "Source-Enlightenment-2020 International Pastel Painting Masterpieces Exhibition" was born.

"As a zero-media material, pastel painting is colorful, has a long history, and is rich in artistic expressiveness. Suzhou has a deep connection with pastel painting, and representative painters such as Yan Wenliang and Hang Mingshi have appeared in history. In recent years, with the active promotion of the Ming Art Museum and related organizations, international and domestic exchanges of pastel painting have become more and more frequent, and a more complete system of pastel painting art dissemination has gradually formed in Suzhou. At present, pastel painting has become a shining cultural card of Suzhou.

In this exhibition, the pastel works of 33 famous artists from all over the world are selected. The theme of the exhibition is "Source-Enlightenment-2020 International Pastel Painting Exhibition", which aims to jointly explore the methods and paths of presenting the painting language of pastel art in contemporary contexts, so that more people can participate in and experience the unique charm of pastel art.
